Tour Itinerary

Day 1 : Airport - Negambo

  • Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, please clear immigration & visa formalities, collect your baggage and proceed to the arrival lounge through the green channel if you do not have goods to be declared to customs. 
  • Explore Vacations Representative will page you by your name. 
  • Thereafter you will be assisted to the Coach Park to begin your journey as per the itinerary and transfer to Negombo.
  • Check in to a hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2 : Negambo - Anuradhapura

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Discover the Negombo city including the fish market and Old Dutch monuments. 
  • Check out from the hotel and proceed to Anuradhapura - This was the first kingdom of Sri Lanka. A UNESCO World Heritage Site. 
  • Arrive in Anuradhapura and visit the ancient city including The Sacred Bodhi Tree (Sri Maha Bodhi), The Samadhi Buddha Statue, The Meghagiri Vihara (Isurumuniya Viharaya), Lovamahapaya (The Great Copper Roofed Mansion) and the other sacred places which are related to the Buddhism.
  • Check in to a hotel for overnight stay.

Day 3 : Anuradhapura - Mihinthale - Dambulla - Matale - Kandy

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Proceed to visit Mihintale which is considered as the cradle of Buddhism.
  • Later transfer to Kandy via Dambulla and Matale.
  • En-route visit the Cave Temples in Dambulla – An UNESCO World Heritage Site. 
  • Visit Matale Aluvihare - In this rock-cave shelter Buddhist monks during King Valagamba’s reign wrote the Tripitaka in Pali on Ola leaves, as indicated on the cave in Sinhala.  
  • Continue the journey to Kandy.
  • Arrive in Kandy - This was the last kingdom of Sri Lanka. A UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Check in to a hotel for overnight stay.

Day 4 : Kandy

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Proceed to visit Gadaladeniya – This is an ancient monastery is found on the flat rock at Diggala in the district of Kandy.
  • Visit Embekke Devalaya which is the best place in Sri Lanka, maybe in the world to see the finest wood carving work.
  • Visit Lankathilake which believed to be one of the most magnificent architectural edifices in the Gampola kingdom, was built at the crest of a large rock named “Panhalgala” overlooking the Hantane mountain range in the Hiripitiya hamlet in Udunuwara. 
  • In the evening witness a cultural dance show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dances including fire dancing.
  • Return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 5 : Kandy - Aththanagalla - Kelaniya - Colombo

  • Breakfast at the hotel. 
  • Participate for pooja ceremony at Temple of Tooth Relic which safely keeps the Lord Buddha’s Tooth Relic venerated by the Buddhists all over the world. 
  • Proceed to Kelaniya. 
  • En-route visit Aththanagalla Temple - It is unique because it is the only ancient temple historically recognized as the place where a Bodhisattva (a future Buddha) fulfilled his Dana Paramita (one of the ten perfections to be completed by a Bodhisattva to become a Buddha, an Awakened One).
  • Later transfer to Kelaniya and visit Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya. It is believed Buddha together with 500 Arahats (Supremely enlightened beings) visited Kelaniya on the Wesak day of the Buddhist Era 2531 and expounding of the Dhamma, the Buddhist doctrine to the inhabitants of the island.
  • Transfer to Colombo.
  • Check in to a hotel for overnight stay.

Day 6 : Colombo - Airport

  • Breakfast at the hotel. 
  • Make a sightseeing tour of Colombo. Visit a Hindu Kovil, a temple, a Christian church, Pettah, Sea Street, Fort, Galle Face Green, and Independence Square... etc. 
  • Visit Gangarama Buddhist Temple - Gangaramaya is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Colombo, started by the famous scholar-monk Hikkaduwa Sri Sumangala Nayaka Thera in the late 19th Century.
  • Transfer to the airport for the departure flight.
